I think the problem is that the Blue Jackets keep asking for Chris Kreider, and the Rangers response has been, who are you giving us along with Rick Nash to get Kreider? |

Is that's the offer that San Jose is throwing around then Howsen is an idiot for not accepting it.
Call me crazy but I would be hard pressed to part with Pavelski and a 1st let along throw in Clowe and Demers. I love Nash but he has never put up points in this league. |

That's the biggest butt rape in history if it happens. Personally, i'd like to see him go to Montreal.
3rd Overall, Pacioretty, Lars Eller and Tinordi for Nash, 2nd Overall.
Not sure who wins that trade |

I would hope Montreal doesn't do it. 3rd/2nd overall is similar. I much prefer having 3 good young players than having 1 good but overpaid. Maybe some teams have too many prospects lying around but not Montreal. I just don't think you can build a winning/championship team with Nash's contract without important changes to the cap system. |

In hindsight, you're right. I'd actually rather have Pacioretty on my team than Nash, and Tinordi is an absolute stud.
no matter how anybody cuts it, no deal for nash will be worth it. |

If Nash had a cap friendly contract (something closer to 6M/y) then things would be completely different. A lot of teams would be willing to overpay since they could figure the assets sent could be replaced with time.

The cap is going up at 70 mil, I'm pretty sure Nash's contract will be the new norm for all franchise players. |

it is 70 million for this summer, and then when the new CBA expires after September 15th, it's very much aniticipated that the owners will try and lower it. |

Not sure eh.......hmmmmm let's see.
I wouldn't trade Pacioretty straight up.
Rick Nash: 30 goals, 29 assits and a -19 making $7.8
Max Pacioretty: 33 goals, 32 assists and a + 2 making $1.65.

Howson is drunk off his ass if he is turning down Joe Pavelski, Ryane Clowe and Jason Demers and a 1st round pick from the Sharks for Nash...
That is an unbelievable offer...and there won't be a better deal...
Maybe time the Jackets got a new GM... |

This.
Mtl should draft 3rd, keep their picks and prospects and make a full rebuild. They have a few pieces already and will get some more in 2012 and 2013 if they do good at the draft table. |
